September 1 to 8 is Literacy and Numeracy Week.

We have had a number of special activities across the School involving staff, students, parents and carers including decorating doorways, number games, whole school reading activities and lots of fun with numbers and words.

Let's Read Expo - Aug 31 & Sept 1

Barwon Valley School demonstrated our literacy/numeracy programs at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre as part of the state wide Let's Read Expo. Words can hardly describe the success of this initiative (so here's a couple of photos to help!). About 12 staff were involved in manning our display over the weekend and they were constantly inundated with interested parents, students accessing our interactive activities, and staff from other schools checking out our innovative ideas.
