The DE&T Middle Years initiative has been implemented at Barwon Valley School under a 3 year "Action Plan". This has seen the embedding of "literacy" into curriculum delivery across the KLA's,  the implementation of "Thinking Orientated Curriculum" strategies and a Middle Years Professional Learning Team which meet weekly to discuss and support development of curriculum that engages, motivates and challenges students in the Middle Years.

Currently Later Years students are working within the framework of the Middle Years initiative. The focus for older students is on developing literacy skills appropriate for their future life experiences and directions. The Later Years initiative will be implemented when it is introduced by DE&T. Elearning is embedded across all curriculum areas. It plays a significant role in supporting English program delivery.
