The “Talking Books” approach
creates resources specifically designed to address the learning needs of
individual students.
“Talking
Books” incorporate digital photos of students and their environments,
their own communication systems such as PCS , and recorded speech into
inter-active multi-media presentations, and print resources such as Big
Books, individual readers and learning centre activities.
The “Talking Books” approach
individualises learning activities by developing student specific resources
for use across the Key Learning Areas, including English, Maths, The Arts,
and Science.
This approach, developed by Chris Benke, won Barwon Valley a
National Literacy Award in 2000, and a finalist place in the Education Trust
Technology Award, 2000
