A small group of Barwon Valley students regularly attend our Secondary
School Annex. This is an educational initiative to
provide increased opportunities for students from both schools to learn
together.
Program Goals
For students from Barwon Valley School to be
included in programs and activities at our Secondary School Annex on a regular
basis to facilitate and encourage:
v
Social
friendships with secondary students
v
Opportunities
to interact with secondary role models and learn appropriate behaviour
v
Inclusion
in classes and activities and learn alongside their peers
v
Skill
development in subjects not offered at Barwon Valley School
v
Inclusion
in whole school activities
v
Social skills that are necessary to participate in a more
representative community setting
v
Appropriate
interaction with a wider range of staff and adults
v
The
understanding of new sets of rules and expectations of behaviour
v
The
development of students as a team facing new challenges together
v
The
ability to readily adapt to changes in programs and curriculum
